Seven medical professionals from Hospital Ramon Carrillo in Bariloche, Argentina visited Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley for the annual medical exchange program. This year we hosted two orthopedic surgeons, on surgical nurse, one dentist, one dental assistant, one physical therapist and one speech therapist. The visitors conduct peer study at Aspen Valley Hospital, Steadman Clinic, Sopris Rehabilitation Specialists, Valley Orthopedics, Valley View Hospital, Silt Care Center, and All Kids Dental in Glenwood Springs and Eagle. We are most grateful to Aspen Chamber Resort Association, Hotel Colorado and Frias Properties for donating housing for the visiting medical professionals.
The Aspen Bariloche Medical Exchange Program has been active for more than twenty years. It´s mission is to improve patient care in the communities of Bariloche and the Roaring Fork Valley through the exchange of medical personnel, education and equipment donations. In addition, it has created long lasting friendships. Sister Cities International recognized it as the Best Professional and Technical Program for 2017.
