Juan Vargas, adaptive ski instructor from La Hoya and representing “Adaptado Patagonia”, worked as an intern for Challenge Aspen during March 2019 and March 2020. Adaptado Patagonia is an adaptive ski program that runs in Cerro Catedral ski resort (Bariloche), La Hoya ski resort (Esquel) and Cerro Bayo ski resort (Villa La Angostura). Challenge Aspen is a local non profit organization that, since 1995, offers recreational activities for people with disabilities, year round.
During his time in Aspen-Snowmass Juan assisted different adaptive ski lessons and participated in training sessions. Juan is grateful for having this exchange opportunity and will be able to share his learning experience with his colleagues at home. As part of this successful exchange, Challenge Aspen donated two “sit skis” for the adaptive programs at Cerro Catedral and La Hoya.
