From September 30th to October 5th 2019 we had a visit from Diego Cannestraci, superintendent of Nahuel Huapi National Park, that surrounds the city of Bariloche.
During his stay in Aspen he had meetings with Torre (mayor of Aspen), Austin Weiss (Aspen Parks & Open Space director), Mike Tunte (Landscape architect and construction manager Parks & Open Spaces), Lisa Stoeddler (Deputy Forest Supervisor- White River NF) and Sarah Lasser (ACRA- Senior director of business). He visited the Maroon Bells Wilderness Area with Shelly Braudis (Recreation manager- Aspen/Sopris Ranger District, White River NF) and hiked trails on Aspen Mountain with Jake Moe and Simon Longacre (Aspen Parks and Trails). This was a very successful visit as we established important connections and had interesting conversations about potential projects together. Some of these projects include the development of a city park in Bariloche, management exchanges between Nahuel Huapi NP and White River NF and tourism exchanges between the sister cities of Bariloche and Aspen.
