Now in its 25th year, the 2025 Pitkin County Cares Awards and Greg Mace Award once again honored individuals and groups for their service, leadership, and civic involvement. Community members were recognized for dedicating their time and energy to helping others in Pitkin County. While nominees did not need to be county residents, their volunteer efforts all took place within Pitkin County.
The Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners hosted a special ceremony and lunch reception at the Pitkin County Library – Dunaway Community Room on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
Betsy Ann Anastas received the “Pitkin County Cares” Civics Award for her commitment and service with Aspen Sister Cities. Betsy Ann has coordinated the student exchanges for decades and currently serves as the vice president of the organization. The success of the Sister Cities programs would not be possible without volunteers like Betsy Ann. THANK YOU!
