SHEELEY: PROUD FOR ASPEN SISTER CITIES

Aspen Sister Cities is excited to honor our relationships with our seven sister cities: Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany; Davos, Switzerland; Queenstown, New Zealand; Shimukappu, Japan; Abetone, Italy; Bariloche, Argentina; and Chamonix, France.

Sister Cities International, to which we belong, is a program initiated by President Eisenhower after World War II to foster world peace. Aspen Sister Cities has been involved in numerous programs since 1966.

This is the second year we have partnered with the City of Aspen to designate the last two weeks of November as Aspen Sister Cities and City of Aspen flag week.

We are proud to have the Aspen Sister Cities banner, the City of Aspen flag, the American flag, and our international sister cities’ country flags displayed on Main Street as a tribute to many wonderful years of friendship, exchanges, and sharing ideas.

Sincerely,

Jill Sheeley, President, Aspen Sister Cities

Betsy Ann Anastas, Vice President, Aspen Sister Cities
